Dick Durbin blocks clean coal initiatives
The DOE wants to spend $1.3 billion on multiple clean coal power plants in in initiative called FutureGen, but Senator Durbin (D-Ill) says he won’t let it happen. You see the Senator is upset, because originally all of the money was supposed to be spent on a single plant in his state. The plug was pulled on that project thanks to skyrocketing costs. So showing his true concern for the environment, Senator Durbin is playing the “if I can’t have it, no one can” card like any good fifth grader would. Personally I think it is disgraceful. If you agree, why not let the Senator know.
