High oil prices got you thinking about an electric? I’ve got a better idea. Why don’t you cut out the middle man and just install your own coal boiler and steam turbine? You know coal, that filthy, nasty stuff that lets you turn on the lights at night. The New York Times reports that thanks [...]

We had a spring league soccer game today. William’s team won, 7-4. It was a lot closer for most of the game. The opposing team’s keeper was really quite good and blocked many many shots for every one he let by! I’ve put up a new gallery for soccer pictures.

The Lady Falcons scored an improbable 5-4 upset tonight at Pates Park against a strong Nothern Lehigh team (7-5). The Falcons led from the first inning and never looked back. After extending their lead 5-1 in the 5th inning, they watched NL score three of their own to close the margin back to one. But [...]

The girls scored a win against Palmerton! Sadly, the celebration didn’t carry over to the northwest Lehigh game today and they suffered another serious disappointment. We just don’t seem to have any offense. Girls who have hit the ball well in the past just aren’t getting hits. Something is needed to spark the confidence. A [...]

Meagan was part of an Earth Day celebration at NCC on Tuesday. She was displaying and selling her designer bags made from recycled plastic bags. The college wrote a nice article on their website and included a mention of her. Congratulations!

Tough loss versus Hamilton Park tonight. The boys played a few good innings but the wheels really came off in the 5th and we just didn’t take advantage of runners in scoring position. I posted some pictures from the game here.

William and I went camping with Scouts this weekend at Mauch Chunk lake in Jim Thorpe PA. We had a fantastic weekend and the weather was wonderful. We took a 21 mile bike hike along the old railroad path in the Lehigh River Gorge. I put up some pictures here.

Another disappointing loss for the girls, this one to Palisades. We just can’t seem to get the offense going. Meagan had 2 at bats, one k and one successful sacrifice bunt. Ashley was injured in an accident so she didn’t start. She will be fine and the team are all pulling for a speedy recovery. [...]

Well, this is just wonderful news. Seems that your daily all purpose vitamin might just be shortening your life!
Honestly I don’t think people should be surprised that vitamins don’t have the positive health impact that they are hyped to have. The “miracles” claimed for some supplements are just too good to be true. Still, I [...]
